Project for the construction of 4.6KM concrete drainage and culverts linking New Bra-Bra and Nyanya Housing estates and Nep layout in Damaturu were estimated at N276,392,669.00 and paid 100% vide direct labour. Despite the poor quality of work done, Audit observed that the actual project executed was 3.8KM drainage instead of 4.6KM as contained in the bills of preliminary estimates.
Audit observed that the sum of N48,068,290.26 for the un-constructed concrete drainage and culverts linking New Bra-Bra and Nyanya Housing estates and Nep layout in Damaturu must be brought to account or alternatively be completed as contained in the bills of preliminary estimates. However, project specifications and design must be adhered to.
