The HOD, Art & Culture received the sum of N3,000,000 (three million naira) only for the hosting of Anambra State Christmas Carol 2020. According to the attached approved memo. The event was fixed tentatively to hold on 18th December, 2020.Enquiries conducted in the audit confirmed that the event (Anambra State Christmas Carol 2020) was neither held nor the invoices and honour certificates genuinely obtained.
The permanent secretary was requested to recover from her (HOD), Art & Culture) the sum of three million (N3,000,000) she received for the Anambra State Christmas Carol 2020 which was never held. She should pay the sum back to the Government treasury and the treasury receipt forwarded to me for further necessary action.
