Audit observed through physical inspection carried out for various assets of the Agency that:
i.Toyota Hilux with Chassis No: AHTFX22G208026177 could not be accounted for even though they were taken on store ledger charge
ii. The Agency did not maintain the necessary books such as Asset Register, for effective vehicle controls
iii. The former Chairman refused to return the vehicle at end of tenure, thereby violating extant regulations regarding ownership of assets procured with tax payers’ money.
The Managing Director is requested to:
i.Recover the Toyota Hilux vehicle with Chassis No: AHTFX22G208026177 and furnish evidence of recovery to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly
ii.Ensure that necessary books such as Asset Register is maintained
iii.Otherwise, sanctions relating to non-payment for use of government property and misappropriation of public property in paragraphs 3113 of Financial Regulations and 030402 (w) of the Public Service Rules, respectively will apply.
