Context/Observation

i.Personal advances totalling N98,077,200.00 granted to officers of the Commission between 1 January and 31 December, 2018, were yet to be retired as at 31 December, 2018, contrary to the provisions of extant regulations.
ii.Some staff were granted multiple advances when previous ones had not been retired.

The Executive Secretary is requested to:
I.Furnish reasons why advances granted to staff were not retired as required by extant regulations.
II.Recover N98,077,200.00 from the affected staff and remit same to the treasury.
III.Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the national assembly
IV.Otherwise sanctions relating to failure to recover advances and non[1]retirement of advances specified in paragraphs 3118 and 3124. of the financial regulations respectively will apply.
