Context/Observation

It is recommended by the Auditor General for the Federation that:
(i) The sum of N767,000.00 paid for item 2.07 in the BOQ / BEME which constitute a duplication of provision of description of works in item 2.02 should be recovered from the contractor.
(ii) The sum of N22,065,450.00 paid for overstated area of network road in the BEME for Nwaigwe Avenue over and above the physical inspection network area of the road seen and measured to have been done should be recovered from the contractor in the first instance failing which the amount should be recovered from the ED PMS / Director PMS and all officers that signed the interim payment certificates for this contractor to be paid.
(iii) The sum of N500,000.00 which represent (part payment of N1,000,000.00 for road marking & project sign posts) payment for road way markings not done should be recovered from the contractor failing which the amount should be recovered from the Director PMS. Evidence of the recovery of all these money should be forwarded to the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation for verification.
