Audit of the financial records of the Hospital for 2018 Financial Year revealed that the Hospital engaged the services of four consultants in the sum of N108,063,856.73, from which a 10% withholding tax amounting to N10,806,385.67 was expected to be deducted and remitted accordingly. The Hospital however deducted the sum of N4,995,947.68, leaving an outstanding of N5,810,438.05.
The Medical Director is required to recover the sum of N5,810,438.05 and to pay same to the Federal Inland Revenue Service, failing of which sanctions provided for in FR 234(II) and (III) should apply.
