I.A total of thirty-five (35) payment vouchers amounting to N116,753,943 were paid to contractors from 2018 to 2019 as capital expenditure.
II.The above payments were not subjected to deductions of Withholding taxes and Value Added Tax amounting to N13,225,592.00.
The Registrar is requested to:
i.Furnish reasons why VAT and WHT were not deducted from payments to contractors.
ii.Recover the sum of N13,225,592.00 due as taxes from the contractors and remit same to relevant tax authorities.
iii.Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly.
iv.Otherwise, sanctions relating to failure to collect and account for Government Revenue specified in paragraph 3112 of the Financial Regulations will apply.
