I.The GIFMIS asset register did not have the necessary information specifically the value of the recorded assets, date of acquisition and life cycle of the asset
II.The register has not been updated since 2016, as there were ICT equipment procured from 2017 to 2020 by the OAGF, which included over eighty (80) high specification HP laptops and several other equipment for the GIFMIS project not found in the asset register.
III.Procurement for enhancement of both the primary and secondary data centre (Gombe State) which involved the acquisition of over 250 (Two hundred and fifty) inverter batteries amongst other ICT equipment were not found in the asset register.
The Accountant General of the Federation is requested to:
I.Ensure the asset register is updated to include All equipment procured for the support and maintenance of GIFMIS project from inception to date
II.Establish and implement a corporate/project policy/directive on asset management defining roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders including those from functional units.
III.Otherwise, sanctions relating to gross misconduct specified in paragraph 3129 of the Financial Regulations should apply.
