I.The sum of N18,616,000.00 was paid to three (3) legal firms between 25 January, 2018 and 5 September, 2018 for legal services rendered to the Authority
II.The engagement of the Solicitors and the subsequent payments were made without the prior consent and approval of the Attorney-General of the Federation in accordance with extant circulars.
The Managing Director is requested to
I. Justify the engagement of external solicitors without the approval of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation.
II.Remit the sum of N18,616,000.00 to the Treasury.
III.Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly.
IV.Otherwise, sanctions relating to irregular payment stated in paragraph 3106 of the Financial Regulations (2009) will apply.
