Contract for the construction of a Library Block at the College of Health Sciences was awarded in the contract sum of ₦127,733,520.67, on 17th March, 2015, with a completion period of 24 weeks. During the periodic check in November 2017, we observed that the sum of ₦67,028,049.25, representing 52% of the contract sum had been paid to the contractor. Even though the project was supposed to have been handed over by March 2017, eight (8) months after the completion period, but during physical verification, there was no evidence of work done at the site. The contractor abandoned the contract.
