Context/Observation

It is recommended by the Auditor General for the Federation that:-
i. The sum of N52,393,206.56 being the cost of shortfall in the capacity of the lecture theatre should be recovered from the contractor failing which the amount should be recovered from the engineer (Engr. Gregory) that signed the completion certificate.
ii. The contractor should replace the benches with collapsible chairs with leather as specified in the BEME otherwise the sum of N20,000,000.00 should be recovered from him failing upon which the amount should be recovered from the Engineer (Engr. Gregory).
iii. The sum of N3,340,000.00 paid for burglary protector that was not provided in the building should be recovered from the contractor also failing which the engineer that signed the certificate should be held responsible.
iv. The total sum of N75,733,206.56 should be refunded by the contractor to the coffers of the Commission failing the Director of PMS should be held responsible.
Outcome of (i –iv) above should be forwarded to my office for verification.
