The sum of two million, nine hundred and forty thousand naira (2,940,000) only was paid the voucher No. 3 of May 2020 for engagement of services of five (5) drivers for six months and overhead cost. The drivers were to handle fire trucks. According to the approved memo, an agreement was reached with a company identified as JKPeek Ltd for the driver services.No documents were attached to the payment voucher as evidence of utilization of the amount for the earmarked purposes.
The permanent secretary was requested to avail my office of the agreement entered into with JK Peez Ltd for informed input from my office. Meanwhile, obtain from the MD/CEO, Anambra State Fire Service the payroll sheets for monthly payment of the drivers as well as written information on their places deployment in the event of his failure to provide the requested documents, he should refund to the government coffer the sum of N2,940,000 for not applying it to the purposes for which approval was originally given.
