Context/Observation

Audit observed that government press received most of its jobs from ministries, departments and agencies. These MDAs usually give bill of quantities to government press and transfer cash equivalent to their bank accounts. Immediately the money received , no other documented evidence of how it was utilized , no other documented evidence of how it was utilized, either in terms of purchase of production materials of how profit made after production was kept or maintained. Consequently upon the foregoing, the total sum of two hundred and one million, eight hundred and forty nine thousand , two hundred and eighteen naira (N201, 849, 218) received from various ministries, non-ministerial departments and third party customers from printing were not properly accounted for.

The former managing director/CEO, was required to give detail account of the revenues accruable rom the transactions as contained in the attached appendic1 and furnish my office with documented evidence of such account. Otherwise the sum N201,849,218 should be recovered from him and evidence of such recovery forwarded to be for confirmation.
