It was observed in audit that the members of the governing council of the corporation received extra allowance in form of transport and hotel accommodation which was not part of their approved sitting allowance by his excellency as contained in the extant circular ( of 15th September, 2014).
The sum of N620,000 was the total amount of transport and accommodation expenses which the corporation paid to the board members per sitting in excess of approved amount but with the members having ten (10) sittings during the period in question, it then means they collected a total sum of N6,200,000 in excess of the approved amount by his excellency.
The managing director of ASHDC was requested to recover the total sum of six million, two hundred thousand naira (N6,200,000) only from the council members with respect to the amount collected by them individually. Evidence of such recovery, supported with relevant documents should be communicated to the Auditor-General for confirmation.
