Audit observed, from the examination of February, 2015 Reconciliation Statement of EcoBank Plc with Account No. 11133000832 and the Bank’s cash book/general ledger, that the sum of N3,584,687,766.73 which reflected on the debit side of the bank statement did not reflect in the cash book/ general ledger. Audit further observed that this amount was transferred into account No “705073” on 5th February 2015. Details of this transaction were however, not presented for Audit.
The Managing Director is required to account for the sum N3,584,687,766.73, otherwise, sanctions stated in FR 3115 & 3129 should apply.
