1.Three payments totalling N149,402,500.00 were made to three contractors for various consultancy services vide Vouchers No. 3721, 4320 and 4218, respectively.
2.The statutory 10% Withholding Tax (WHT) amounting to N14,940,250.00
3.Only 5% WHT of N7,470,125.00 was deducted leaving a balance of N7,470,125.00
The Comptroller-General is requested to:
I. Furnish reasons for the under-deduction of WHT from payment to contractors.
II.Recover the sum N7,470,125.00 from the Contractors and remit same to the relevant tax authorities.
III.Forward evidence of remittance particulars to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly.
IV.Otherwise, sanctions relating to failure to collect and account for Government Revenue specified in paragraph 3112 of the Financial Regulations will apply.
