I.The Council paid allowance to the principal officers of the College of Veterinary Surgeon amounting to N10,700,000.00
II.There was no evidence of approval by the Minister and other relevant Government agencies such as National Salaries, income and wage commission for the allowance.
The Registrar is requested to:
I.Justify the payment of non-approved allowance to staff
II.Recover the sum of N10,700,000.00 from the affected staff and pay back to government coffers.
III.Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly.
IV.Otherwise, sanctions relating to irregular payment specified in paragraph 3106 of the Financial Regulations will apply.
