1. Estate Tenants, Shipping Companies and Service Boats were hugely indebted to NPA with the sum of US$67,425,429.88 (Sixty-seven million, four hundred and twenty-five thousand four hundred and twenty-nine dollars eighty-eight cent), and N32, 266,183,590.89 (Thirty-two billion, two hundred and sixty-six million, one hundred and eighty-three thousand, five hundred and ninety thousand Naira eighty-nine kobo).
ii. Sizeable percentages of these debts were non performing or dormant due to long
period of non-settlement.

Legislative Recommendation

i. Justify the Nigerian Port Authority’s failure to ensure compliance with tenancy agreements.
ii. Recover the sum of US$67,425,429.88 (Sixty seven million, four hundred and twenty five thousand four hundred and twenty nine dollars eighty eight cent) and N32,266,183,590.89 (Thirty two billion, two hundred and sixty-six million, one hundred and eighty three thousand five hundred and ninety thousand naira eighty nine kobo) , and remit same without further delay.
iv. Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly, and
v. Otherwise, apply sanctions relating to failure to collect and account for Government Revenue in paragraph 3112 of the Financial Regulations.
