Audit observed that amounts totalling N40,426,140.00 granted to officers of the Commission as imprests remains unretired, two years after they were granted in 2016, in contravention of the above quoted regulation.
It was also observed that standing imprests as high as N602,500 were paid as monthly imprest in violation of Financial Regulation 1014.
The Director General/CEO is required to recover the sum N40,426,140.00 from the beneficiaries and pay same to the government coffers, failing which sanction stated within FR 3124 should apply.
