Context/Observation

1. The sum of N28,122,362.00 (Twenty-eight million one hundred and twenty-two thousand, three hundred and sixty-two naira only) was collected as revenue from sales of government assets and tender fee for the period 2017 to 2019 and was paid into the centre’s TSA but not remitted to CRF, and
2. The centre collected the sum of N5,600,000.00 rents from staff occupying Government staff quarters for the period January, 2016 to December, 2019 but did not remitted as an independent revenue to the CRF.

Legislative Recommendation

1. Explain reason why disciplinary actions should not be taken against him for not remitting the sum of N28,122,362.00 (Twenty-eight million, one hundred and twenty- two thousand, three hundred and sixty- two naira only) collected as independent revenue to the CRF and denying the Government the revenue to fund its capital budget.
2.Remit the sum of N28,122,362.00 collected to the CRF and forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly,
3. Otherwise, apply sanctions relating to failure to collect and account for Government Revenue in paragraph 3112 of the Financial Regulations
