I.Fifty-two (52) payments were made to contractors and suppliers for procurement of various items.
II.The statutory 1% stamp duty totalling N15,206,833.18 on the above contracts was not deducted from payments to contractors/suppliers.
The Director-General is requested to
I.Provide reasons why statutory 1% stamp duty was not deducted from payments made to contractors/suppliers.
II.Recover and remit to Treasury the sum of N15,206,833.18 being over-payment to the contractors due to non-deduction of 1% stamp duty.
III.Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly.
IV.Otherwise, sanctions relating to failure to collect and account for Government Revenue. specified in paragraph 3112 of the Financial Regulations will supply.
