I.Payments were made through thirteen (13) payment vouchers amounting to N22,190,000.00) in favour to some Contractors for supply of Diesel for the Court’s President Official Resident/Quarters, NICN Annex Office and also on Internet Subscription
II.5% VAT, 5% WHT and 1% Stamp Duty which amounted to N1,109,500.00, N1,109,500.00 and N221,900.00 respectively were not deducted from the contracts resulting to cumulated amount of N2,440,000.00 contrary to extant regulations.
The Chief Registrar is requested to:
I.Furnish reasons why statutory withholding tax and value added tax and 1% Stamp Duty tax were not deducted from payment to contractors.
II.Recover from the contractors, the sum of N2,440,000.00 and remit same to Federal Inland Revenue Service.
III.Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly.
IV.Otherwise, sanctions relating to failure to collect and account for Government Revenue specified in paragraph 3112 of the Financial Regulation should apply.
