Audit observed that there was a loss of cash in the hospital in the sum of N3,387,139.00 in the year 2017 by an officer of the hospital. It was further observed that the hospital management was yet to issue an official statement on how the cash was lost, neither have they made any attempt to recover the said amount nor report the loss to the Loss Committee as required under Financial Regulations 2504 – 2507.
The Chief Medical Director is required to ensure that the amount is fully recovered and paid to government chest. Otherwise, sanction stated within FR 3115 should apply
