Audit observed that:
i.The sum of 143,428,919.00 (One hundred and forty-three million, four hundred and twenty-eight thousand, nine hundred and nineteen naira) was spent to procure store items between 2017 and 2018 through thirty-five (35) payment vouchers, and
ii.There was no evidence like Stores Receipt Voucher (SRV) to show the items procured were taken on ledger charge as required by extant regulations.
The Chief Medical Director is required to:
i.Furnish reasons why store items procured were not taken on ledger charge as required by extant regulations.
ii.Account for the sum of 143,428,919.00 (One hundred and forty-three million, four hundred and twenty-eight thousand, nine hundred and nineteen naira) expended on the supply of store items without appropriate documentation.
iii.Remit the sum of 143,428,919.00 to the Treasury.
iv.Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly, and
v.Otherwise, apply sanctions relating to irregular payment prescribed by paragraph 3106 of the Financial Regulations.
