Audit observed that:
1.The sum of N593,769,996.80 (Five hundred and ninety-three million, seven hundred and sixty-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-six naira, eighty kobo) was paid for contracts awarded by the College.
2.The above payments were made for contracts through twenty-five (25) payment vouchers.
3.The 25 payment vouchers were not made available for examination despite requests, and
Progress of work could not be established due to non availability of payment vouchers and other relevant documents.
The provost is requested to:
i.Furnish reasons for not presenting payment vouchers and other relevant records relating to payment for contracts for examination.
ii.Account for N593,769,996.80 (Five hundred and ninety-three million, seven hundred and sixty-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-six naira eighty kobo).
iii.Recover and remit the sum of N593,769,996.80 (Five hundred and ninety-three million, seven hundred and sixty-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-six naira eighty kobo only) to the Treasury.
iv.Forward evidence of remittance to the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly, and
v.Otherwise, apply sanctions relating to payment for jobs not executed specified in paragraph 3104 (iii) of the Financial Regulations.
