Audit observed that figures which were recognized in the Consolidated Financial Statements were different from the amount confirmed by some MDAs. For instance, the amount confirmed from six (6) MDAs that responded to the circularization were different from that consolidated, thereby resulting in overstatement of N4,966,660,810.02 and understatement of N53,730,598,911.16.
The Accountant-General of the Federation is requested to:
i. Justify the adequacies of accounting systems and controls put in place by his Office in MDAs and other Arms of government, and
ii. Provide justification for the discrepancies among the figures (Overstatement=N4,966,660,810.02 & Understatement =N53,730,598,911.16) consolidated for the MDAs and the amount confirmed.
iii. Otherwise, sanction relating to provisions of FR 3129 should accordingly apply.
