It was established that the agency during the period covered by the audit exercise did not take seriously the implementation of the stamp duty act. The Act which requires all MDAs to affix a N50 postage stamp on every receipt of transaction from N1,000 and above was not complied with. There was no stamp in all the payment vouchers in the year 2018 while in 2019 and 2020 the act was rarely implemented.
The managing director was therefore specifically directed to liaise with Anambra State internal revenue service (AIRS) for a customized stamps to be affixed on receipts or payment vouchers for transactions above one thousand naira (N1,000) as the continuing violation of the act will no longer be received lightly.
