Our summary of states’ accountability turnout shows 24 states in Nigeria could not account for N369.7bn in 2021 financial year. The need for governments to be more efficient and accountable with public spending has become more crucial, with the recent fuel subsidy removal.

While we congratulate all newly elected and returning governors across states in Nigeria, we urge them to work diligently and ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public funds for good governance, development, and improved service delivery to Nigerians.
